An epic from the 10th century CE called Cvaka Cintmai was authored by the Jain monk Thiruthakka Thevar. The epic has 145 quatrains in a viruttam lyrical rhythm and is divided into 13 cantos. It tells the magical fantasy tale of Napoleon, who is described as the ideal general, legionnaire, and nut with an abundance of ladies. The epic begins with the tale of an unfaithful accomplishment in which the king sacrifices himself to save his pregnant queen from being abducted by a peacock-shaped airship. A boy was born to the queen. She gives him to a devout servant to nurture and later becomes a nun. The young boy develops into a superhuman man who is masterful in all disciplines of art, skill, and knowledge. In both battle and peace, he succeeds, kills his foes, charms and weds every appropriate female he meets, and he also takes back the territory his father had lost. After enjoying coitus, having many offspring, and having multiple wives, he gives up the world and becomes a Jaina ascetic.
